Book of Kells
The Gospel of St. Mark,
one of the four ancient manuscripts comprising The Book of Kells,
is to be exhibited at The National Gallery of Australia in Canberra,
from February 25th until May 7th, 2000.
The manuscript, dating from around 800AD,
will be accompanied by its own team of security guards at all times,
and the total security and insurance bill is expected to run into millions of pounds.
The remaining three gospels will remain in the Old Library , Trinity College, Dublin.
